American tenor Andrew Turner recently completed the Opera Studio of the Vienna State Opera, where his roles included Borsa in Rigoletto, the Third Squire in Parsifal, and the Fourth Jew in Salome. His recent American engagements include Tybalt in Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette with The Dallas Opera and Eli in the world premiere of Gregory Spears and Tracy K. Smith’s The Righteous at Santa Fe Opera.

Turner previously served as a Resident Artist with Pittsburgh Opera, appearing in The Magic Flute, The Rose Elf, In a Grove, Carmen, and Blue. He has also performed with Des Moines Metro Opera and Virginia Opera. At The Juilliard School, he sang the title role in Mozart’s La clemenza di Tito and appeared as Miles Zegner in Missy Mazzoli’s Proving Up.

A native of Tacoma, Washington, Turner earned his bachelor’s degree from Washington State University and his master’s degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign before continuing his studies at Juilliard. He was a District and Regional Award winner in the 2024 Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition and was selected to compete in Operalia 2026. Turner makes his Boston Baroque debut in Haydn’s The Seasons.
