Hear Haydn’s The Seasons with Boston Baroque on CRB

Our first season with Music Director Marc Minkowski began with Haydn’s The Seasons at NEC’s Jordan Hall. On Sunday, November 1, at 7 PM ET, you can hear that performance on Classical 99.5 CRB.

Recorded on September 20, the concert features Boston Baroque’s period-instrument orchestra and chorus alongside soprano Lauren Snouffer, tenor Andrew Turner, and bass-baritone Brandon Cedel. Whether you joined us in the hall or will be hearing it for the first time, we hope you’ll tune in.

From spring’s first stirrings to summer storms, autumn celebrations, and winter’s quiet, The Seasons brings the natural world to life through music. Its vivid scenes give orchestra, chorus, and soloists moments of drama, humor, and reflection.

Ahead of the performance, Minkowski spoke with CRB’s Edyn-Mae Stevenson about choosing Haydn’s oratorio to open his tenure, his connection with our musicians, and his hopes for Boston Baroque’s future. You can hear their conversation on CRB’s website.

Want to experience Minkowski’s music-making live? He returns to Boston Baroque on February 27 and 28, 2027, to conduct Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater and Bach cantatas, featuring soprano Maya Kherani and countertenor Aryeh Nussbaum Cohen. Join us at NEC’s Jordan Hall or Harvard’s Sanders Theatre for music of profound sorrow and radiant joy.
