HAYDN’S THE SEASONS (DIE JOHRESZEITEN)

Joseph Haydn’s The Seasons is a four-part oratorio that traces the cycle of the year through vivid musical depictions of rural life, nature, and human reflection. Composed at the end of Haydn’s career, the work blends pastoral scenes with moments of grandeur and contemplation, set for soloists, chorus, and orchestra.

Boston Baroque presents the work with soprano Lauren Snouffer, tenor Andrew Turner, and bass-baritone Brandon Cedel.


THE X-TET: SONGS OF ITALY

November 13 & 14, 2026 | Boston Conservatory at Berklee

An evening of Italian chamber music featuring soprano Amanda Forsythe and Cristiano Contadin, presented with Boston Baroque’s X-tet. Founded in 2019, the X-tet is the ensemble’s period-instrument chamber group, drawn from Boston Baroque’s orchestra roster and designed for intimate performances.


HANDEL’S MESSIAH

December 12 & 13, 2026 | NEC’s Jordan Hall

Messiah is one of the most enduring works in the choral repertoire, structured in three parts that trace prophecy, the life of Christ, and the promise of redemption. Composed in 1741, the oratorio combines solo arias, recitatives, and choruses into a sweeping narrative driven by both intimacy and grandeur.

Boston Baroque presents the work with soprano Liv Redpath, mezzo-soprano Fleur Barron, tenor Eric Ferring, and baritone Benjamin Appl.


NEW YEAR’S CELEBRATION

This concert will celebrate the New Year with Music Director Marc Minkowski in an all-Beethoven program, with more details to be announced soon.

 
 

PERGOLESI’S STABAT MATER

February 27 & 28, 2027 | Jordan Hall/Sanders Theater

Conductor | Marc Minkowski

This is a program of solo and sacred vocal works that move between intimate cantatas and deeply expressive devotional writing.

This program also features Bach’s Vergnügte Ruh’, beliebte Seelenlust, BWV 170 and Jauchzet Gott in allen Landen, BWV 51, performed by soprano Maya Kherani and countertenor Aryeh Nussbaum Cohen.

BLOW’S VENUS & ADONIS

Dido & Aeneas: Avery Amereau as Dido, Song Hee Lee as Belinda, Roderick Williams as Aeneas, and Sophie Michaux as the Sorceress.

Venus & Adonis: Amanda Forsythe as Venus, Roderick Williams as Adonis, and Song Hee Lee as Cupid.


THE X-TET: SONGS OF THE AVIARY

This program features works shaped by birdsong and memory, including the world premiere of a new composition by Lei Liang inspired by the extinct Kauaʻi ʻōʻō.
